Summer Reading Program
Make This Summer Count

Summer: Your Secret Weapon for Reading Growth
Summer is one of the most effective times of year for reading growth. With fewer school demands and more mental space, students can make remarkable progress with our high-dosage, Structured Literacy tutoring.
Over the summer, your child or teen can
-
strengthen core reading and spelling skills,
-
gain fluency and confidence in time for the new school year
-
move ahead while many of their peers experience the summer slide

What Is the Summer Reading Program?
The Kids Up Reading Tutors Summer Reading Program is one-on-one tutoring. No groups. No shared lessons. Your child works individually with a highly-trained tutor following a structured plan tailored to their specific needs.
โ
One-on-one instruction allows us to
-
Target gaps (and goals) precisely
-
Move at your student's pace
-
Adjust instruction in real time
โ
The result is faster, more meaningful progress than students typically make in group or small-group summer reading programs.

"I was initially worried about the virtual format, but Kids Up Reading has perfected making online learning both effective and enjoyable."

Keep Your Camp, Sports and Work Plans
โTutoring with Kids Up Reading Tutors fits around your child's or teen's summer plans. Students can still attend camps, play sports, or work a summer job, and schedule tutoring before or after activities, or on non-camp days.
Some families continue the tutoring while they're traveling, and schedule sessions in the morning before heading out for the day. Others pause the tutoring and resume when they return.
Because sessions are one-on-one and online, tutoring works in addition to — not instead of — the rest of your child’s summer.
Charlie had essentially jumped reading trajectories, from being slightly behind grade level at the end of 2nd grade to at or slightly above grade level in 3rd (in part due to continued tutoring over the summer). We recognize that test scores are only part of the picture, but it was nice to see his progress.
