About the Literacy Evaluation

The literacy evaluation helps us understand your child's current reading and spelling skills so we can recommend the right intervention plan. It is not a medical diagnosis or a full psychoeducational evaluation.

"Thank you for the update, and for all your continuing work with [our daughter].  I was sitting in the next room while [she] had her lesson yesterday (and earlier this week), and her reading is so much improved.  She seems to be flying through Diary of a Pug, not getting tripped up on too many words, handling some tricky words well, understanding the story as she reads, and clearly enjoying it with her dramatic renditions."

How Does Kids Up's Pricing Compare to Enrolling Your Child in a School for Kids With Dyslexia?

Kids Up's tutoring is FAR less expensive than even a single year of tuition at any of the well-known schools for kids with dyslexia.

In addition:

  • Many of these schools serve mild to moderate learning differences, not the most significant reading disabilities.  They will generally only admit students who are at most 1-2 years behind.

  • Students often stay enrolled for years, sometimes through high school graduation. A family whose child starts in third grade and stays through 12th grade could pay several hundred thousand dollars in tuition over time, and that's before fees, supplies and tuition increases.

Kids Up Reading Tutors works differently. Instead of a fixed annual tuition, you pay for the sessions your child actually needs, for as long as they need them, while your child stays enrolled at their current school with their friends. Even an intensive schedule of tutoring  with Kids Up costs less than a single year of private school tuition, let alone several years of it.

"I'm not exaggerating in saying I'm amazed at the results. After she'd been in tutoring for about four months, we had her 504 meeting at the school. We all decided she didn't need a 504 plan at all — she is reading at grade level and excelling academically."
