Kids Up Reading Tutors recommends 3–4 sessions per week for most students. For students who are just missing a few phonics patterns, 2x/week might be enough, and for students who have a lot of material to learn, 5x/week - usually over the summer - will help them progress as quickly as possible. This high-intensity tutoring helps your child or teen build reading and spelling skills quickly without feeling overwhelmed. Each session with Kids Up Reading Tutors is 45 or 60 minutes long, minus a few minutes at the end for our tutors to take notes. We've found that that's the right amount of time to enable most kids and teens to make real progress without becoming overwhelmed. This allows us to cover new skills, review past material, and keep sessions engaging from start to finish.

We charge the same hourly tutoring rates for both Option 1 (our traditional tutoring) and Option 2 (where the homeschooling parent joins the sessions to see how we teach their child to read). The total cost will be significantly lower for families who choose Option 2, because the homeschooling parent takes over instruction. Note: Option 2 is not a course in teaching dyslexic children to read. It is an opportunity for homeschooling parents to see what we do and how we do it.
