Kids Up Reading Tutors follows the Science of Reading and Structured Literacy. We use the Kilpatrick program to teach phonological skills and Orton-Gillingham to teach phonics, fluency, morphology and spelling rules. We'll do screeners with your child or teen up front, and then target the tutoring sessions to the exact skills your child or teen still needs to learn. Kids Up Reading Tutors does what's known as "high-dosage tutoring." We'll work with your student two or more times per week, so they catch up as quickly as possible. Most of our students do sessions 3-4x/week and get caught up to grade level in 4–9 months. Spelling takes longer than reading, so goals matter — tell us yours and we’ll guide you.
